Hi, I'm
Laura Savina
Thank you so much for dropping in today
I am Laura Savina, named after my great grandmother Rachel Savina, a shirt finisher and seamstress from England. My grandmother taught me to knit and my mother taught me to sew, she made fabulous dresses for me in the 1970's and handmade exquisite Ragdolls to be raffled for charities in 'The Mothers Circle'
Growing up in the 1970's for me was all about the Laura Ashley look, I had a classic Laura Ashley bedroom and our home was beautifully furnished in this style. My father was a self employed painter & decorator and with a fabric loving mother, it was inevitable that i would fall in love with interiors and how patterned and colour can transform space.
I trained as a curtain maker and have refined my techniques in the professionalworkroom before working independently as a soft furnishings seamstress. I believe strongly in sustainability and in making things that will last a lifetime and become family heirlooms.
Everyone should have the option to create a lovely home that reflects their taste and personality, no matter if its rented or owned so I'm happy to alter your curtains from Dunelm, steer you towards well priced fabric websites, local bricks and mortar fabric shops or transform fabrics and curtains from your stash.
